Between
These paintings developed from close observation of small surface and corner sections of my Trash Tower sculptures; as well as the play of light, shadows and atmosphere in between various arrangements of the Towers. In keeping with my interest in creating art from trash these painting supports are pieces of recycled cardboard and wood offcuts pulled from my trash bin. The horizontal format encourages the viewer to transverse the varied spaces of light, atmosphere and color. Created during the pandemic I was interested in narrowing my focus and investigating the textures, colors, and light found in intimate places and mundane materials in my studio and home.
